LBQT ABORTION UNBOXED

We hosted an enlightening session titled “LBQT Abortions Unboxed,” where we delved deep into the essential pillars and components of comprehensive abortion care. Our discussions covered everything from the medical aspects of abortion to the importance of post-abortion care. Participants gained a thorough understanding of the different methods and procedures involved in safe abortion services, as well as the legal and ethical considerations that come into play. We also emphasized the significance of patient-centered care, ensuring that all individuals seeking abortion services are treated with respect and compassion.

One of the key highlights of the session was our value clarification and attitude transformation exercises. These activities encouraged participants to reflect on their own beliefs and values, and how these might influence their ability to provide unbiased information and care. By examining and challenging their own attitudes, participants learned to recognize and overcome personal biases that could hinder their professional responsibilities. This transformative experience aimed to foster a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone involved in providing or seeking abortion services.

We also tackled the challenges and stigma associated with abortion, especially within the LBQT community. Through open discussions and shared experiences, participants explored ways to address and combat the stigma surrounding abortion. Strategies included advocacy, education, and creating safe spaces for dialogue. By the end of the day, 75% of our participants expressed newfound confidence in discussing abortion openly with their communities. This session was a powerful and enlightening experience that not only broadened our understanding but also strengthened our resolve to continue this important journey of learning and advocacy.
