We are in the Big Apple , for none other than CSW69!!!!
đ⨠3W at CSW69! Our presence at the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) marks a significant milestone in our journey toward centering LBQT voices in global feminist spaces. This yearâs theme focused on âAccelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective.â For 3W, this theme resonates deeply with our work on the groundâwhere economic inequality, institutional neglect, and underfunding of queer-led initiatives remain daily barriers to the safety, dignity, and rights of LBQT persons.
As queer feminists and advocates from Kisumu to the world, we engaged in powerful conversations around what it means to fund queer futures, build inclusive institutions, and dismantle systems that continue to marginalize LBQT communities. We contributed to dialogues on climate justice, access to safe abortion, and the urgent need to recognize queer bodies in poverty alleviation efforts. We challenged the invisibilization of LBQT voices in mainstream gender advocacy and emphasized that no gender equality can exist without queer liberation.
Being at CSW means that our grassroots work is no longer seen as peripheral but as central to the global movement for justice. It affirms our commitment to intersectional organizing and holds the door open for more LBQT persons to show up, speak out, and shape policy. From Kisumuâs community spaces to UN corridors, we are connecting the dots between lived realities and international commitments. CSW isnât just a seat at the tableâitâs a platform where we reimagine whatâs possible when queer voices are heard, believed, and funded. đłď¸âđđŞđżđ° #3WAtCSW #QueerFeminism #LBQTVoicesMatter #FundQueerFutures #CSW69 #InclusiveFeminism
