Resource Mobilisation- Capacity Strengthening

On 24 July 2025, we held a comprehensive training session on Strategy and Development aimed at strengthening our organisation’s capacity to secure and maximise financial, human, material, and technical resources. The session explored the full scope of resource mobilisation, from fundraising and donor engagement to income-generating activities (IGAs) that enhance sustainability. 3w staff examined common myths and misconceptions around fundraising, learned strategies for mapping stakeholders and documenting impact, and discussed how to tailor proposals to donor interests and priorities.

The training emphasised the importance of diversifying funding sources, building unrestricted funds, and maintaining ongoing communication with donors to foster long-term partnerships. Practical guidance was provided on researching donor portfolios, developing targeted concept papers, and creating IGAs that address community needs while generating revenue. By the end of the session, the staff had a clear resource mobilisation plan with defined objectives, approaches, and equipping the organisation with the tools and strategies needed to achieve sustainable growth.
